YBDXC Anniversary QSO Party (English)

Definition
YB Land DX Club (YBDXC) Anniversary QSO Party is an activity organized by the YBDXC as ORARI’s subsidiary which invites all radio amateurs to conduct many QSOs as possible with YBDXC members in commemoration YBDXC’s birthday.

Objective
To promote YBDXC to radio amateurs around the world and self-training event for YBDXC members

Entrants
All radio amateurs can take part in this activity. All entrants must be a Single Operator and only primary private callsign allowed, do not use secondary or special callsign.

Time
All reported QSOs must be within the period of September 13th 2018 00:00 UTC until October 13th 2018 23:59 UTC.

Activity Identification

  • All entrants can make unique calls as a sign of their participation in this activity, namely: “CQ YBDXC“. Example: “CQ YBDXC CQ YBDXC DE YD4IRS YD4IRS AR”
  • YBDXC member stations uses a call that contains their membership registration number. Example “CQ YBDXC CQ YBDXC DE YC4HQ YBDXC#144 AR”

Band
QSO can be done on all HF bands including WARC bands. During QSO all entrants remain limited to their licenses and please avoid using frequencies that have been allocated as Center of Emergency Activity.

Mode
QSO can be done in CW, Phone and Digital (Please only RTTY and PSK)

Exchange
Exchange needed during QSO is only signal strength report. Example: “YB0XXX 599 DE YC4HQ BK”

Judging QSO Results

  • All QSOs (all bands and all modes) within the specified timeframe can be submitted in a logsheet, including all QSOs in other activities.
  • Every Valid QSO scored 1 (one) point.
  • Valid QSO is a QSO with all YBDXC member stations.
  • QSOs with non-YBDXC members scored 0 (zero) point.
  • Each station may only QSO with other station once in each mode.
  • QSO with same station and mode in different bands is a duplication of QSO and will only be worth 1 (one) point.
  • List of YBDXC members can be seen on https://www.ybdxc.net/members-list/

QSO Reporting (Logsheet)

  • All QSOs are reported to manager via email to qsoparty@ybdxc.net
  • The logs delivery deadline is November 13th 2018. All logs sent over the deadline are not awarded.
  • All logs are mandatory in a file in the Cabrillo format
  • File names used is participant callsign. Example “yc4hq.log
  • QSO mode is written in logsheet by: CW for CW, PH for Phone, RY for RTTY, PK for PSK
  • There are no specific categories in this activity, the “CATEGORY” section in the logsheet can be ignored.
  • Logsheet must contain a complete name and mailing address
  • The time difference tolerance with other entrants are 30 minutes

Special Rules for YBDXC Members

  • Valid QSO is every QSO with all amateur radio (not only with YBDXC members)
  • If a callsign does not send his/her logs but logged in 5 (five) different logsheets (N> 5) then the QSO is considered to be a valid QSO and scored 1 (one) point, if it does not meet the condition N> 5 then QSO is ignored and not scored.
  • Use a call that includes a membership registration number. Example “CQ YBDXC CQ YBDXC DE YC4HQ YBDXC#144 AR”
  • In the “CLUB:” section of the logsheet, you must write YB Land DX Club 000 (000 is the membership registration number)

Award
4 types of awards are available. Each participant is given an electronic award certificate with the following conditions:

  1. CW Award
    • The Bronze level is given to participants who can collect less than 15 points in CW mode
    • The Silver level is given to participants who can collect less than 30 points in CW mode
    • The Gold level is given to participants who can collect more than 30 points in CW mode
  1. Phone Award
    • The Bronze level is given to participants who can collect less than 35 points in Phone mode
    • The Silver level is given to participants who can collect less than 75 points in Phone mode
    • The Gold level is given to participants who can collect more than 75 points in Phone mode
  2. Digital Award
    • The Bronze level is given to participants who can collect less than 35 points in Digital mode
    • The Silver level is given to participants who can collect less than 75 points in Phone mode
    • The Gold level is given to participants who can collect more than 75 points in Phone mode
  3. Platinum Award
    • Given to participants who reached the Gold level in all modes with band activity at least 5 bands or 4 (four) bands for Indonesian station with General License and minimum accumulated scores (CW+Phone+Digital) are 200 (two hundreds) points.

For members of YBDXC the following conditions are applied:

  1. CW Award
    • The Bronze level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 50 points in CW mode
    • The Silver level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 100 points in CW mode
    • The Gold level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect more than 100 points in CW mode
  2. Phone Award
    • The Bronze level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 100 points in Phone mode
    • The Silver level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 200 points in Phone mode
    • The Gold level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect more than 200 points in Phone mode
  3. Digital Award
    • The Bronze level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 100 points in Digital mode
    • The Silver level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect less than 200 points in Digital mode
    • The Gold level is given to YBDXC Members who can collect more than 200 points in Digital mode
  4. Platinum Award
    • Given to YBDXC Members who reached the Gold level in all modes with band activity at least 5 (five) bands or 4 (four) bands for members with General License and minimum accumulated scores (CW+Phone+Digital) are 550 (five hundreds and fifty) points.

Award is issued based on the highest entrant’s achievement, if entrant has reached the Gold level then all awards levels below are no longer published and downloadable on YBDXC website www.ybdxc.net until next year on September 1st.

Plaque
2 Exclusive plaques are available and will be given to Members of YBDXC and amateur radio outside Indonesia with the following conditions:

  • Winner must reach Platinum Award
  • Winner must have the highest score in each mode
  • If there are no entrants who meet the above conditions then there will be no plaque winners. The plaque from sponsors will be contested again at the next YBDXC Anniversary QSO Party.
  • Plaque will be sent by sponsor directly to your home address, make sure you provide a complete home address in your logsheet.

Additional Information

  • You can use any logger software to merge your QSOs data and convert it to cabrillo. There are so many logger software have its features.
  • You may use DX Cluster to inform others that you are in our QSO Party.
  • If your QSO data contains other data e.g Contest Exchange, you dont need to delete it just keep it in the log.
