(The first large-scale Asian–African or Afro–Asian Conference—also known as the Bandung Conference—was a meeting of Asian and African Nations, most of which were newly independent, which took place on April 18–24, 1955 in Bandung, Indonesia. The twenty-five countries that participated at the Bandung Conference represented nearly one-quarter of the Earth’s land surface and a total population of 1.5 billion people.[1] The conference was organized by Indonesia, Burma, Pakistan, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), andIndia and was coordinated by Ruslan Abdulgani, secretary general of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conference’s Nations aims were to promote Afro-Asian economic and cultural cooperation and to oppose colonialism orneocolonialism by any nation. The conference was an important step towards the Non-Aligned Movement.

The aim of the conference :
Participate in any activity of 60th Asian-African Conference Commemoration 2015 conducted by the Government of Republic of Indonesia and the Province of West Java, and support to promoting the Heritage of Bandung City as well as West Java tourism objects in general through Amateur Radio communication. The final part is delivery all QSL cards to Amateur Radio Friends whom successfully made a QSO with YE6ØAA Station on the schedule.

To commemorate Asian-African Conference 1955 as one of the greatest moment for the Nation of Indonesia, which was initiated by our first President, Ir.Soekarno, who was propose the Asian-African Conference 1955 held in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. He was later popular as a founder of well-known Movement of Non-Aligned by Nations to match Allies World Domination at that time.

The 60th Asian-African Conference Commemoration 2015 is truly a priviledge event to do any activity for remembering and celebrating the Anniversary of Asian-African Conference. Therefore, ORARI West Java inviting all amateur radio friends from all over the world to participate in the “Special Call” during Asian-African Conference on 18-19th April 2015.

ASIAN-AFRICAN CONFERENCE AWARD (AAC AWARD)

In addition to the activities mentioned above, we will issue an award which is called the ASIAN-AFRICAN CONFERENCE AWARD (AAC Award) with the following rules:

The award can be claimed by Worldwide Amateur Radio Station with a valid, active license.

Participants should engage communication with Amateur Radio Station from 28 countries that are participated in the Asian-African Conference in 1955. The communication should at least take place with 15 of the 28, one of which must include a QSO with an Indonesian Amateur Radio Station.

Any participants with QSOs with stations from more than 15 countries are eligible for endorsemen sticker on the award.

The log sheet of the QSOs should be sent starting from January 1st – December 31st 2015 without attaching any QSL cards.

Each QSO data will be used to claim only one category (NO DUPLICATE !)

As some countries have more than one prefix in the callsign, all valid prefix are applicable for claiming the AAC Award (i.e. Indonesia : YB/YE, YC/YF, YD/YG, YH).

The bands used for claiming this award are 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 40 and 80 meters. Digital mode will be carried out using RTTY, PSK, or JT-65.

The log sheet form is provided. It can also be self-made. The information should include data of the station, operator, and completed QSOs, download_logsheet.

Submission expiry date for claiming the award is prior to April, 30th 2016.
