Announcing the CDXC DX Marathon Challenge
Objectives:
1. Promote continued DX activity by CDXC Members
2. Recognize and reward excellence of continuous DX chasing by members
3. Promote upload of logs by members to Club Log
Scoring:
1. The number of DXCCs worked in any calendar year, as recorded by Club Log entries
2. Any mode, any band, but DXCCs count only once
3. Only CDXC Members are eligible for trophy or salver awards; three non-member certificates will be awarded
4. Award is to individual operator, but QSOs made under different single-operator callsigns will be counted if the callsigns are linked in Club Log (eg, G4xxx, GR4xxx etc) so long as all the callsigns are owned by that individual and made from the same DXCC entity. Note: Club Contest callsigns are not eligible for linking, but are eligible for awards on a stand-alone basis.
5. Club Log uploads must occur at least three times during the year, including at least one the 3rdcalendar quarter, one in the 4th calendar quarter, and at least one upload between 1st December and 15th December. More frequent uploads are encouraged.
6. Final upload must be within five days of the end of the calendar year

1. Highest Score Overall – The Club Log Trophy (travelling cup), sponsored by CDXC, plus salver
2. Highest CW Score – The GM4FAM Trophy (travelling cup), sponsored by Micheal G7VJR, plus salver
3. Highest Phone Score – The G3NUG Trophy (travelling cup), sponsored by Neville G3NUG, plus salver
4. Second Highest Score Overall – salver
5. Third Highest Score Overall – salver
6. 4th-10th Places – certificates, e-mailed to the winners
7. Highest placed Foundation licensee – certificate, e-mailed to the winner
8. Highest placed Intermediate licensee – certificate, e-mailed to the winner
9. Highest placed Full licensee who has held a Full licence for less than three years – certificate, e-mailed to the winner
10. Highest overall Score for non-CDXC member – certificate, e-mailed to the winner
11. Highest CW Score for non-CDXC member – certificate, e-mailed to the winner
12. Highest Phone Score for non-CDXC member – certificate, e-mailed to the winner

CDXC DX Marathon Challenge
Starting in 2014, the CDXC DX Marathon Challenge is an annual competition open to all CDXC members. Its purposes are to promote DXing during the year, to recognize achievement in DXing over the year, and to promote the uploading of logs to Club Log (which leads to better statistical information for us all).

Eligibility:
The CDXC DX Marathon Challenge is open to any licensed amateur world-wide, but only fully paid up members of the Chiltern DX Club (CDXC) are eligible to receive trophies and salvers.
Scoring:
Each DXCC entity scores 1 point and is counted once only regardless of how many bands or modes on which that entity is worked.
Log entry:
Via upload to Club Log and electing to enter the CDXC DX Marathon Challenge on the Club Log website. Regular uploading of your log during the year is encouraged – at least once per month is preferred – as this helps to drive the Challenge and provides a spectator sport for all to see.
To be eligible for awards, Club Log uploads must occur at least three times during the year, including at least once in the 3rd calendar quarter, once in the October-November period, and at least once between December 1st and December 15th. More frequent uploads are encouraged.
Log Verification:
No QSLs are required, but in the event of a dispute the CDXC committee may request verification via other means.
Closing date:
The final upload to Club Log must be no later than 23:59 UTC, 5 January of the following year. Scores will be determined based on data contained in Club Log at that time.

The GM4FAM Trophy (travelling cup), sponsored by Michael G7VJR, will be awarded to the CDXC member with the highest number of CW DXCCs worked.
The G3NUG Trophy (travelling cup), sponsored by Neville G3NUG, will be awarded to the CDXC member with the highest number of Phone DXCCs worked.
The top three placed overall entrants, the top CW entrant and the top Phone entrant will each receive an engraved salver to keep.

CDXC, the UK DX Foundation, supports DXing and operating excellence on the HF spectrum. As part of CDXC’s activities, Club Log provides support for three distinct DXing challenges, designed to stimulate activity and reward members for their achievements.

How to participate
To join any of the three challenges, go to your Settings page, and click on the Club Memberships tab. Select the challenge or challenges in which you would like to partcipate and add yourself. Please allow up to 24 hours after joining for your log to be included, and remember that if you are not already a CDXC member you will not be able to join the CDXC DX Marathon Challenge.
The LF Challenge
March – 160m, 80m, 40m
The Penallt Trophy, given in memory of Allan Phillips, GW0BIC, is awarded to the CDXC member who works the most DXCC entities on the 160m, 80m and 40m bands during the month of March each year (January prior to 2005). Each DXCC entity is counted once only, regardless of how many bands or how many modes that entity is worked on. There is no minimum number of entities worked in order to qualify. QSLs are not required.

The HF Challenge
September – 15m to 6m
The HF Challenge seeks to stimulate DXing on the high HF ham bands, from 15m to 6m inclusive (where permitted) during September. Each DXCC entity is counted once only, regardless of how many bands or how many modes that entity is worked on. There is no minimum number of entities worked in order to qualify. QSLs are not required.

The DX Marathon Challenge is a year-long challenge starting at midnight on 1 January annually. The objective is to work as many DXCC entities as possible during the year. Each DXCC entity is counted once only, regardless of how many bands or how many modes that entity is worked on. There is no minimum number of entities worked in order to qualify. QSLs are not required.
